Multiple Site-level Inventories: The perfect way to manage your stock and not lose sales

For multinational brands, managing inventory is always a challenge. In this video, we have a demonstration of how the Stock Mutualization Cartridge enables the businesses to better adapt to the ever changing stock needs of their individualized branches. With a Distribution Warehouse strategically positioned to cover each group of branches' requirements, your sales will be boosted and your inventory more efficient.

Inventory on Salesforce Commerce Cloud

By default, Salesforce only allows a site to have a single Inventory List associated with it. In this way, if a product were to run out of stock, you wouldn't be able to sell it even if you had stock available nearby, in another branch of your brand. Having a Centralized Warehouse would prevent the loss of this sale, while still delivering it within reasonable time.

Stock Extension

The idea behind Stock Mutualization is to extend the Site's Inventory. By assigning a nearby Warehouse that is ready to distribute stock as needed, you can retain the sales during the timeframe where otherwise you'd have a stockout. Now, instead of losing profit, you gain more time to redirect inventory and satisfy your customers.

Improved Logistics

As examplified in the video, we could have a Distribution Warehouse that would be able to reach both Portugal and Spain easily. As a result, whenever a stockout would happen, we'd be able to react timely, maintain the sales, and organize the stock to distribute it according to the demand — all while the customer has a seamless experience.
